About the CEO of Mariposa Fine Wine & Spirits
Judith Fabre McDonough is passionate about food and wine. As the CEO of Mariposa Fine Wine & Spirits, she helps others to explore these passions. Her company is a fine wine distributor that provides exclusive offerings from small family vintners around the globe.
Based outside of Boston in Foxborough, she is bringing new wines to the U.S. market that include French wine from Vincent Lataste and Australian wine from Hewitson. Her wholesale company is growing quickly and introducing new wines to customers in restaurants, bars, and stores.
Before she became a fine wine wholesaler, Judith Fabre McDonough served as a national sales representative for Petrossian caviar, Caviar Star and Cipriani. She holds membership in Les Dames d’Escoffier International, which consists of professional women leaders in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries.

Seema Tikare
Media Consultant
Seema has been passionate about three things in her life. Travel, family, and wine, which also represent specific phases in her life. Starting at age 16, she began her travels with a year in Germany and a several-year-long love affair with Europe. After that, working for the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program, she was able to travel to Albania, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Israel, Mali, Malawi, Macedonia, Uganda, Nepal and even spent a year in Mongolia. Following that phase, her focus shifted to her children for a few years and now, she is fully concentrating on wine. All aspects of wine – winemaking, tasting, writing, educating and sharing her passion.
Wines are incredibly complicated to make and to taste, which appeals to the wine-nerd in Seema’s soul. Having studied at the University of Georgia, University of Virginia, the Friedrich-Alexander Universität in Bavaria and finally at MIT, she thought she had had enough of school. But then the passion for wine struck and she decided that she needed to head back to the classroom to understand what it all meant. Having now graduated from the Boston University Wine Studies program with a distinction, she is digging deeper into the world of fine wine in the level 4 diploma course with the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust (WSET). Immersing herself in writing, talking about and tasting wines while working closely with Judith to deepen and expand Mariposa’s portfolio is a dream come true.
